NATHAN PORTER
Nathan Porter was born and raised in American Fork. He participated in the American Fork High School Marching Band for three years, playing marimba in the front ensemble. In addition to marching band, Nathan played with the American Fork Wind Ensemble, AF Percussion Ensemble, Utah All State Orchestra, and the award-winning Wasatch Marimba Quartet. Additionally, Nathan has won first place five times at the annual Utah Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion competing in the keyboard solo category, and most recently took first place in the college division.
This is the second year Nathan has been on staff with the American Fork Marching Band Front Ensemble. He is grateful for the opportunity to return to the American Fork Band and continue working with the program. Nathan currently lives with his wife in Orem. When not teaching, he enjoys mountain biking, fishing, and working on cars.
