Band Moms
Band Moms refers to a group of women (and often men!) who help band members prepare for shows, and care for band members at events by providing water, food and even a reassuring hug. Band moms inspect uniforms, help pin up hair, repair uniforms, and keep track of the fine details that make the already exceptional band extraordinary. These volunteers are not referred to as "Mrs", rather the band members call them "Mama". Many a band member has gone looking for Mama Dean to help them out of a jam, and most have ended up seeking Mama Mayfield to fix a uniform problem at one time or another.
Before the season, Band Moms often assist in making or modifying parts of the uniforms. Then they help to measure and fit uniforms to every member.
At every show, specific Band Moms known as "Section Moms" show up early to conduct uniform inspections and assist in any presentation issues. If inclement weather requires it, Band Moms help to distribute and help band members put on rain covers.
