Edward F. Gobbel is entering his 22nd year as a music educator, having studied at Wayne State and Michigan State Universities. He was a marching member of two World Class Drum and Bugle Corps for five seasons and has served as a brass technician, brass caption chair, and brass arranger for several different World Class Drum and Bugle Corps. He has been a clinician and instructor for many accomplished programs throughout Michigan, New York, Ohio, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Utah and Texas.
Mr. Gobbel has been writing wind arrangements and pedagogy guides for movement and winds, as well as drill for marching band and winter colorguard since 1991. He is the owner of efg Marching Concepts, a company based out of Cedar Creek, Texas that provides creative services, design services, program consultation, staff training, and student leader training for band and drum corps programs. Ed has been involved with the American Fork Band program since 1999.
Ed has also spent time in the musical instrument industry, working as an Educational Sales Representative for a large retail outlet and eventually moving into the manufacturing business. Serving as a Product Manager and Sales Manager, he spearheaded the processes of design, marketing, production, and launch of a complete line of marching brass instruments with a major instrument company.
