Court Mackie

Court Mackie is currently a student at Brigham Young University studying music education. Starting on the trombone in 7th grade, he knew by the 8th grade that he wanted to be a band teacher and has pursued that goal ever since.

Court's teaching experience started early. He had the opportunity to serve as section leader in the low brass in almost every ensemble he participated in during middle school and high school. During his senior year in high school, he had the opportunity to work as an intern teaching a concert band at Oquirrh Hills Middle School and a jazz band at Bingham High School. Upon graduation from high school, he was hired to be on staff with the Riverton High School Marching band.

Upon returning from a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Court began his formal studies at BYU in ernest. He has been active as an adjudicator for solo and ensemble festivals in Utah Valley, and has intermittently worked with the Riverton High School marching band during their fall season show preparations. Court just completely a part-time student teaching program at Centennial Middle School in Provo, and will be student teaching full-time at American Fork High School this coming fall semester.
