Music on the Hill Event March 4, 2015 12 Noon
In light of the Utah Legislature ’s intent to push through their STEM agenda and give all math, science, and special education teachers a $5000 raise next year, it is even more imperative that supporters of creativity and music education join us in the Music Education on the Hill Rally next Wednesday March 4 at 12 Noon. Please share this and get the word out, Utah needs STEAM not STEM!
I would like to bring your attention to the Music on the Hill Rally that will be held in support of Music Education on Wednesday, March 4th at 12 noon. We would love to have as many parents and community members as possible there to show their support.
We hear so much about having the students of today ready to compete in a 21st Century workforce, however, without the creativity and innovation that stems from the arts, these other skill sets are limited. Companies want workers who can brainstorm, problem-solve, collaborate creatively and contribute/communicate new ideas. All skill sets firmly established in music education.
I invite you to share the flyer available on the band website www.afbands.org , to spread the good word. Music is alive in Utah and we would like to share with our State Legislators that with their support, it can remain so. Please join us in this important effort!
